There’s something about October that makes us want to slow down, get cosy and make our homes feel a little more special.
The evenings are drawing in, there’s a definite chill in the air and suddenly lighting a candle, warming a wax melt or filling the room with your favourite home fragrance feels like the perfect way to end the day.
And here at Little Moments Melts, October is anything but quiet!
After an incredibly busy year, we’re heading into one of our favourite times of the year – when cosy autumn fragrance meets the excitement of Christmas.

October has a completely different feeling to the summer months.
The doors and windows are no longer open all day, the blankets are coming back onto the sofa and those dark evenings give us the perfect excuse to make our homes feel warm and inviting.
For me, fragrance is such a huge part of that.
A beautiful scent can instantly change the atmosphere of a room. It can remind you of a favourite place, bring back a memory or simply make an ordinary Tuesday evening feel a little bit more special.
That’s exactly why I started Little Moments Melts.
What began on our kitchen table during lockdown in 2020 has grown into an award-winning home fragrance business, now stocked in independent shops across the UK.
And honestly, sometimes I still have to pinch myself!

If there’s one season that was made for candles and wax melts, I think it has to be autumn.

It might seem early to be talking about Christmas, but believe me… Christmas has been happening in our workshop for quite some time!
October is when things really start to get exciting.
We’re busy making, pouring, packing and preparing for the festive season, from Christmas candles and wax melts to gorgeous gifts for friends, family, teachers, colleagues and those people who are simply impossible to buy for.
And, of course, our limited-edition Christmas Advent Calendar has been a very special project this year.
Our first ever Little Moments Melts Advent Calendar was illustrated by our daughter and is filled with beautiful Christmas fragrances – making every day in December a little moment to look forward to.

Our new candle studio is where you can come along with friends, family, colleagues or even for a special celebration and make your very own scented candle.
It’s a lovely experience for anyone who enjoys being creative, and you don’t need to be an experienced crafter.
You simply choose your fragrance, learn about candle making and create something completely personal to you.
We’re also looking ahead to our Christmas candle-making workshops, which are perfect for getting together with friends or colleagues before the festive madness really begins.
And yes… there may be mince pies and mulled wine involved! 🎄
❤️ From a kitchen table to an award-winning business
When I look back at where Little Moments Melts started, October always makes me reflect on just how far we’ve come.
In 2020, I was making wax melts on our kitchen table.
Today, Little Moments Melts is an award-winning British home fragrance brand, stocked in independent shops and supplying wholesale customers across the UK.
We’ve travelled to trade shows, flower shows, county shows and events all over the country. We’ve met some amazing people, worked with some fantastic retailers and had opportunities I could never have imagined when I started.
And perhaps the biggest lesson?
It really is never too late to start something new.
I started my business in my fifties, and if there’s one thing I’d love people to take from my story, it’s this:
Don’t assume your best adventures are behind you.
Sometimes they’re only just beginning.
